First Look at Merida from Pixar's "Brave"

In spite of Cars 2's race to #1 at the box office this weekend, it would seem that the Pixar film that's on everybody's mind is "Brave", which is set to be released on June 22 of next year.

The film has been receiving a tremendous amount of publicity for a) being Pixar's first fairy tale, b) having Brenda Chapman, the studio's first female director, at the helm of the project, and c) featuring Pixar's first female protagonist, a feisty redhead (are there really any other kinds?) named Merida.

In addition to the official character art and theatrical poster we saw last week, Pixar released its first high res image of Merida in action this weekend.
